Essex has identified six core values, and now its time to ACT! Our first step is to make sure everyone knows what our values are. How? GIANT MOBILES, co-created by visiting artist Kevin Reese with Essex students, and built with help from all of US. Sign up here to volunteer during Kevin’s two week residency in Essex schools. We need about 40 volunteers for one and a half hour shifts to assist Kevin and students in the studio. Daytime and after school hours available. Sign up! Bring a friend! Invest 90 minutes of time as a volunteer and help make these amazing mobiles a reality.
The community-produced mobiles will be displayed as one huge structure, 120 feet long by 60 feet wide in the cafeteria of Essex High School. They will then be disassembled and moved to sponsoring businesses for permanent installation. In the end we will have a series of dispersed mobiles that will serve as a visual reminder of what matters most to the people of Essex!
