Summit Street students make mobiles with visiting artist Kevin Reese

kevin at summitVisiting artist, Kevin Reese is in town and mobiles are beginning to take shape.  Our community art project will result in large mobiles that reflect what matters most to the people of Essex.  Kevin began his residency by working with some of our youngest community members at Summit Street School.

Don’t miss out on all the fun.  Below are four ways to get involved:

1. Volunteer to help students build mobiles.  Click here to sign up.

2. Build Mobiles during a Community Workshop. Saturday, November 16, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon, Essex High School

3. Enjoy a live performance by artist Kevin Reese, inspired by the work of American artist Alexander Calder (the inventor of the mobile).  Thursday, November 21st at 5:00 p.m. at Essex High School

4. See the Mobiles. Immediately following Kevin’s performance, there will be a reception and unveiling of the giant community produced mobile Thursday, November 21st 6:00 p.m., Essex High School

What great photos! The children are clearly so engaged and having fun – Kevin, too! I am really looking forward to joining in when I volunteer at EHS.
